So this past weekend we watched Cody which of course Lauren was so excited about. I was amazed at how much she would tease Cody and he would tease her. They about drove me nuts. Luckily I had to work most of the weekend, so Shawn was left to deal with all of it!

The weather was beautiful this weekend, so on Saturday I took Lauren for a ride in her wagon. We went down to the lake and tried to feed the ducks bread, but none of them would come over. So I guess we technically fed the fish since Lauren still threw bread into the lake. After that we went home and tried to fly her Elmo kite. No luck there either. She would run across the yard trying to get the kite to fly - it was really cute. Mommy and daddy tried too, but no luck. I had to work in the afternoon, so after her nap, Daddy took them to the park. She was pretty worn out that night.

On Sunday we all went to church together and Lauren did pretty good. She just loves going - it's all she talks about. She went up to communion with me and tried to take my wafer and then when I drank the wine, she said "me have some juice to please ma'ee?" It was too cute!

Mr. Aidan was a good boy as usual and actually said "dada" this weekend, so Shawn is very excited.

I also opened both the kids savings accounts this weekend, so now you'll know that if you give them money, it will go to a good place. We'd been collecting so many dollars for so long - it was good to get them put into an account. I think that's all for now - I'll write more later!

6 month check-up

Aidan had his 6 month check-up today - it's hard to believe six months have already gone by! Lauren helped me take baby to the doctor today. She of course talked off the ear of anyone that would listen - the doctor, the nurses, the appointment lady. Everything from the whale on her shirt to she's big to why is the zebra on the doctor's stethoscope - she just cracks me up.

Aidan was 17 pounds, 1 ounce and 27 inches long. He is in the 25-50 percentile for weight and 50-75 percentile for length. The doctor said he looked really good and could tell how happy of a baby he is. He gave me the name of a pediatric ophthalmologist and said to call him if his tear ducts don't open up in the next couple of months. Aidan got three shots today and one vaccine orally. He didn't even cry with the first two shots, but the third one got to him :(

The doctor said that in the next couple of months he'll start sitting up and possibly pulling himself up and start cruising the furniture. I can now start buying the stage 2 foods, but they still need to be really soft and mushy. At 7 months we can start introducing some meats.

I'm hoping that it will finally be nice this weekend and that the rain will stop. We're watching Cody this weekend, so I'm sure we'd love to get out and do something outside. Ken and Jane are in Baltimore for a funeral so Michelle has to look after the bar for Ken. Since Cody can't stay home alone, we'll be watching him. I have to work tomorrow afternoon (last game of the season - yeah), so I'm sure this will be a crazy weekend and not very relaxing.

Ricky didn't finish the basement this week, so no painting yet - not that we have time this weekend anyway. He should be finished next week, so looks like the painting party will be next weekend. That's all - everyone have a great weekend!

Mals, PooPoo and Blah Blah Blah

Lauren saw the animals in the lower left hand corner of the Pottery Barn Kids catalog yesterday at mama's house and was begging mom for the animals. "Please, please, please mama." So when Shawn go there to pick her up, she also started begging him for the animals. So Daddy ended up taking her and Aidan to Toys 'R Us on the way home to buy her some animals. I'm going to add a picture soon of her with her new animals. She's so excited about her new "Mals" (animals). They bought an elephant, giraffe, panda bear, monkey and lion. She took them to bed with her last night and also in the car this morning on the way to school. Apparently she also saw a blue and green dinosaur that she really liked at Toys 'R Us, because when she woke up this morning, she kept telling me about the blue and green dinosaurs.

Lauren's potty training is going really well. We've got the peepee pretty much down. It's the poopoo that's a bit of a challenge. Although yesterday she did poopoo at mama's house, so we're headed in the right direction. Mom said she went running down to the other room shouting, "Papa, poopoo, Papa, I poopoo." Oh the little joys in life!

Aidan has started talking so much. He just goes on and on. On Sunday I really think he said "mamama" and "blahblahblah" I'm hoping he's not telling me that's what I sound like! I took some video of him talking this morning, so as soon as I figure out how to post videos, I'll add it here!

I'm starting an online journal to keep a record of and to share with my family everything the kids are doing. Please feel free to stop back in to see new stories and to see new photos of the kids!
